It’s sinister that domainers get the blame for all the wrong on the internet, when Registrars do exactly the same thing! Bob Parsons of Go Daddy admit in a 2007 CNN Money interview that parked pages earn Go Daddy $12,000/day (wonder what they earn now). All the Registrars earn from parked pages. Why are Domainers being singled out? Registrars ARE domainers! Registrars pick up dropped names, preventing them from being released – what’s the difference?

Domainers are the weaker target compared to Registrars, so it’s easy to go after you!

This interview was great in showing the absolute ignorance and bias by Edelman again the domain industry. His argument is so ridiculous that it's hard to spend the time to answer it.

However, any reader who wants to know the TRUE facts about domain investing, there's a great article with a lot of feedback from the domain community at:
http://domainnamewire.com/2010/03/03/edelman-domainers-cause-harm-add-little-value/

I advise anyone who owns a company and wants to buy a domain representing their prodservs to read this.

Great article! You are absolutely right. Simply saying that no one needs to be careful with their information because the "banks" will have to worry about it is ignoring the larger problem. The losses the bank or merchant incurs will eventually translate into higher cost for everyone. This is akin to saying that there is no point in revealing a shoplifter to a security guard because it isn't your store- when in fact, we know that those loses are rolled into the prices we pay for products every day. Cybersecurity is EVERYONE'S PROBLEM, and an empty bank account is definitely not the least of a person's troubles if they fall for phishing schemes.

This is one of the best detailed explanations describing this problem. I just read that Google is now aware of this problem and is in the process of reducing the number of offending sites. "Eliminating" would be more preferable.

If you get a chance to check this out, would be great if you could report on Google's progress. You're in the KNOW.

So far, the malware is NOT automatically installed just by visiting, for sure, guaranteed? You need to click...

This has been an ongoing problem that only recently got a lot worse. What is being done by Google to combat this? or should we switch search engines?
